How To Input Scores on SRMS

The Input Scores feature is found under the Course Lecturer role. It enables lecturers to input scores (CA and Examination Scores), to generate Grade Summary, Reports, and CA report, print sub-program score sheet for the number of students that have registered the courses assigned to them. 


Follow these steps to learn;

1. How to input scores

a.  Locate and click 'Input Scores'



 

b.  Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester from the lists of semesters.



c.  After selecting a semester, all the courses assigned to you in that semester will be displayed; as shown below.

 


d.  Select the desired course from the list of courses on the left side of the screen. The list of students who have enrolled for the course will be displayed on the right side of the screen.

e.  Enter the CA and Exam scores for each student.

f.  Click 'Save' to save scores.

 


2.   How to Generate Grades Summary

The Grade Summary feature gives a comprehensive grade distribution report in a graphical format. It shows you the number of students with scores, the total number of grades for a course, and the percentage of each grade.


a.  From the list of courses, select your desired course. You will see the list of students who have registered for the course and their grades.

 3.    How to Generate Report


The Generate Report feature gives a comprehensive report and summary on the following;

  • The number of students that registered for a particular course and their total scores (CA and Examination Score).
  • The number of Fail Absent (FA), i.e students who registered for a course and did not write the exam or do not have a CA score.
  • The number of students that have a particular grade.

a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester.

b. From the lists of courses, select your desired course. You will see the list of students who have registered for that particular course and their grades.

c. Click the 'Generate Report' to generate a report.

 

4.  How to Generate a CA Report.


As a course lecturer, the CA report gives a comprehensive report on the number of students who have registered for your course; those who have a CA score, and those who don't have a CA score.

a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester.

b. From the list of courses, select your desired course. You will see the list of students who have registered the course and their grades.

c. Click the 'Generate CA Report' to generate a report.

 

5.   How to Print Sub-Program Scores Sheet


The print Sub-Program Scores Sheet allows course lecturers to print score sheets. This feature is useful where you have a general course with a large number of students; you can filter by sub-program to reduce the list of students for the course.

a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down button to select the desired semester.

b. From the list of courses, select your desired course. You will see the list of students who have registered the course and their grades.

c. Click the 'Select Sub-Program' drop-down list to select the desired subprogram.

d. Click the 'Select Level' drop-down list to select the desired level.

e. Click the 'Print Sub-program Scores Sheet' list to generate a report.


 

6.  How to Round-Up Score


As a course lecturer, you can use the Round Up 38 to 40 feature to round up scores that are less than 40 and greater than or equal to 38 to 40. When a student's score is 38 or 39 and there is a reason to round-up the score, you can use the Round-up 38 to 40 features to achieve it.


Steps on how to Roundup 38 to 40


a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester.

b. From the list of courses, select the course for which you want to round up the student's scores to 40.

c. Click 'OK' to round up scores


7.   How to Download Score Template


As a course lecturer, the Download Template feature allows you to download the score format template in Excel format. This excel spreadsheet contains the lists of students who have registered for the course. You can use this spreadsheet to enter student CA scores and Examination scores when you want to work offline; either due to poor internet connectivity or no internet at all.

This Excel spreadsheet scores can also be uploaded on SRMS when you're connected back to the internet using the 'Upload Scores' feature.


Steps on how to Download Scores Template


a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester.

b. From the lists of courses select your desired course. You will see the list of students who have registered for the course.

c. Click 'Download Template' to download the template.


 

8.  How to Upload/ Download Scores

The Upload Scores feature allows you to upload scores that were inputted offline on SRMS in an Excel format.

Steps on How to Upload Scores


a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester.

b. From the list of courses, select the course for which you want to upload the students' scores. You will see the list of students who have registered for the course.

c. Click 'Upload Scores'

        

d. When you click 'Upload Scores', you will receive a display; as shown below.


 

e. Click 'Choose File' as shown above to select the downloaded template that contains the students' scores for the course.

                        

How to Download Score Template


To cancel a selected file, click 'Cancel'.

f. Click 'Upload' to upload the selected file.

 

9.  How to Print Empty Scoresheet 

The Print Empty Scoresheet allows course lecturers to input scores, student's grades and the number of Fail Absent (FA); i.e students who registered a course and did not write the exam or do not have a CA score manually. Please follow the steps below to enable you to print out an empty score sheet containing a list of students who have registered for the course.

a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester.

b. From the list of courses,  select the course for which you want to print an empty scoresheet. You will see the list of students who have registered for the course.

c. Click 'Print Empty Scoresheet' to print the score sheet.


 

10.    How to Print Sub-Program Empty Scoresheet

The Sub-Program Empty Scoresheet allows course lecturers to input scores manually for sub-program students.

a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester.

b. From the list of courses, select your desired course. You will see the list of students who have registered for the course and their grades.

c. Click the 'Select Sub-Program' drop-down list to select the desired sub-program for which you want to print an empty scoresheet.

d. Click the 'Select Level' drop-down list to select the desired level.

e. Click 'Sub-program Empty ScoresSheet' to print the scoresheet.


 


11.    How to Print Empty CA Scoresheet 

The Empty CA Scoresheet allows course lecturers to input CA scores manually for sub-program students who registered for their courses. The following steps will enable you to print out an empty score sheet containing a list of students who have registered the course.

 a. Click the 'Select Semester' drop-down list to select the desired semester.

b. From the lists of courses, select the course for which you want to print an empty CA scoresheet. You will see the list of students who have registered the course.

c. Click the 'Select Sub-Program' drop-down list to select the desired sub-program for which you want to print an empty CA scoresheet.

d. Click the 'Select Level' drop-down list to select the desired level.

e. Click 'Empty CA ScoresSheet' to print the CA scoresheet.


 

NOTE:


1. Before a course lecturer can input student's scores, the Academic Secretary or MIS Coordinator must set and open the score entry time frame. How To Manage Score Entry Time Frame

2. The Excel format file must be the downloaded template from SRMS. Another excel sheet won't be accepted. It is recommended that after downloading the template, move the template to a location on your desktop or laptop where you can easily access it from. 

3. If in the process of inputting scores, your laptop or desktop goes off, you can click 'Restore From Local Storage' to retrieve the scores you have entered.

4. The total score (CA and Exam) of each student can not be more than 100

5. The Grades Summary feature also gives you the total number of students who registered for the course but don't have a score for both CA and Exam. An example is an Absent case.
